Trump Says “Serious Discussions” Underway to “End Our Military Operations in Iran” – Threatens to Destroy Electric Plants, Oil Wells, Kharg Island, and Desalination Plants
President Trump said on Monday that he is in serious discussions and close to a deal with Iran, while threatening to escalate “if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached.”
Trump has given Iran until Monday, April 6, to stop blocking oil shipping in the Strait of Hormuz amid negotiations.
On Sunday night, Trump told reporters on Air Force One that a deal with Iran “could be soon,” adding that the US is “weeks ahead of schedule.”
On the potential deployment of ground troops, Trump said, “I just have lots of alternatives,” also noting, “we have tremendous numbers of ships over there.”
“It’s really a new regime. It’s a group of people, people that we’ve never dealt with before, that are acting very reasonable. It is truly regime change,” he said. Khamenei’s son, “may be alive, but he’s obviously very seriously in trouble” and “seriously wounded,” Trump added.
Meanwhile, he says, Iran is “agreeing with us” on the 15-point plan proposed by Trump. “And just to prove that they’re serious,” Trump continued, Iran agreed to allow 20 boats of oil to travel through the Strait of Hormuz.

Early on Monday, the President issued a similar statement, writing, “The United States of America is in serious discussions with A NEW, AND MORE REASONABLE, REGIME to end our Military Operations in Iran,” threatening the destruction of Iranian infrastructure if a deal is not reached.
“Great progress has been made but, if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached, which it probably will be, and if the Hormuz Strait is not immediately ‘Open for Business,’ we will conclude our lovely ‘stay’ in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!), which we have purposefully not yet “’ouched,’” he added.
“This will be in retribution for our many soldiers, and others, that Iran has butchered and killed over the old Regime’s 47 year ‘Reign of Terror.”
This comes after thousands of additional troops arrived in the Middle East over the weekend, and reports suggest that up to 10,000 additional troops will be deployed.
