WATCH: Vance Says Tim Walz Could be Prosecuted in Fraud Probe, Signals California Voter Fraud Will Also be Investigated

Vice President JD Vance discussed his plans with the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud in an interview with Benny Johnson on Friday, where he said that Tim Walz and other Democratic officials could “absolutely” be prosecuted for defrauding taxpayers.
Chaired by Vice President JD Vance, with Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson as Vice Chairman, “the Task Force will coordinate measures to improve eligibility verification, implement pre-payment controls, detect high-risk fraud trends, and disrupt and dismantle fraud networks and the mechanisms through which fraud is committed,” according to the order.
Earlier in the interview, Vance stated that Somali Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) “definitely committed immigration fraud, against the United States of America” and that the task force is looking into what can be done about it, The Gateway Pundit reported. ‘We’re trying to look at what the remedies are. That’s the thing we’re trying to figure out is what are the legal remedies now that we know that she’s committed immigration fraud? How do you investigate her? How do you go after her?” he added, suggesting that she may also be involved in the mass welfare fraud in the Somali community.
When asked about failed Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz, Vance trolled Walz’s horrendous debate performance against him, then said, “We’re going to have to maybe kick him again a little bit.”
“We’re absolutely going to prosecute it,” he said if the investigation shows that Walz engaged in criminal activity.
WATCH:
Johnson: What about, you know, your friend Tim Walz? I mean, you guys shared a wonderful moment on the debate stage together.
Vance: I do feel very bad for Tim Walz because of what happened in the October 2024 debate, but unfortunately, we’re going to have to maybe kick him again a little bit, because, again, look, I don’t know. To be clear, I don’t know what Tim Walz knew about the fraud that was happening in Minneapolis, but what I do know is that the Department of Justice is now going to look into it, we’re now going to investigate it, and if he committed a crime, we’re absolutely going to prosecute it.
Vance also spoke about the massive fraud in California’s welfare and election systems, suggesting that nobody is off the table in his task force’s investigation.
“The right amount of voter fraud is actually zero,” Vance said, while highlighting the importance of the SAVE America Act in California, where a poll worker can be thrown in jail for a civil rights violation if they ask a voter to see their ID, according to the Secretary of State’s office. “Fraud happens in both our voting system, but also our welfare system, way more often than they let on.”
WATCH:
Johnson: Same with Gavin Newsom in California, there’s a lot going on there. Voter fraud in California, hospice fraud. What about the voter fraud, them like just using fictitious names, paying people for votes? Perhaps you’ve seen this.
Vance: We’ve seen this. We’ve also, I mean, look, California is the state that is most ripe for voter fraud because they will literally prosecute you if you ask for voter ID. And this is one of the reasons why, Benny, to bring in another subject, this is why the Senate has to grow a spine and pass the SAVE America Act, because when you allow people to cast a ballot, and you don’t even check their ID, in fact, you prosecute somebody at the polling booth who would check their ID, you necessarily invite fraud.
And my favorite response on this, Benny, from people is when they say that, well, voter fraud doesn’t happen that often. Two problems, number one, that often— not that often, is still too much voter fraud in the United States of America. The right amount of voter fraud is actually zero. And number two is, if voter fraud doesn’t happen that often, then why are you guys so dedicated to stopping our anti fraud efforts? In other words, why do you care so much? And the reason they care so much is because they know that fraud happens in both our voting system, but also our welfare system way more often than they let on.
As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, Vance said in an interview with journalist Nick Shirley that he expects to see a “significant ramp-up in the number of prosecutions” in “a matter of months.”
