Marcelo Gomes da Silva, the 19-year-old illegal alien from Brazil, invited as a guest to President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address by Democrat Rep. Seth Moulton, was named in two 2021 police reports involving sexual assault and juveniles.

The reports from the Milford Police Department in Massachusetts surfaced after the Boston Herald filed public records requests, highlighting potential red flags in da Silva’s background.

Da Silva entered the U.S. when he was six years old on a student visa that expired. He applied for asylum but was detained by ICE in May while driving, mistaken for his father, who had traffic violations. He was held for several days at a Boston-area facility before being released on bond.

Moulton, who has praised da Silva as a “great American” and “patriot,” invited him to the SOTU to spotlight immigration issues.

During the event, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) posted on X identifying da Silva as an “illegal alien” with “no right to be in our nation,” vowing to enforce his removal.

Moulton’s staff escorted da Silva out of the chamber and reportedly hid him in the congressman’s office.

In a video with Moulton, da Silva expressed disappointment, saying he wasn’t surprised DHS didn’t want “an illegal alien like me” at the SOTU.

The police reports, numbered 21-16254 (June 30, 2021, involving sexual assault and juveniles) and 21-23101 (September 15, 2021, involving juveniles), name da Silva as a person of interest.

Milford Deputy Chief John Sanchioni denied the Herald’s requests for the full documents, citing their sensitive nature.

The Herald reports:

Milford Deputy Chief John Sanchioni denied both of those requests, indicating that the police report from June 2021 “involves a sexual assault and juveniles,” and that the report from September 2021 “involves juveniles.” He did not elaborate.

The deputy chief simply wrote: “The records you are requesting are not public records in accordance with M.G.L. c. 4 s. 7 cl. 26 (A). Report 21-23101-OF involves a sexual assault and juveniles. Report 21-16254-OF involves juveniles.”

Da Silva has denied any involvement in assaults, claiming that he learned of the reports through media coverage.

As of now, no charges have been filed related to the reports, and Da Silva has not been deported.
