Minnesota Republicans are turning up the heat on the state’s far-left executive leadership as members of the Minnesota Freedom Caucus move forward with impeachment efforts targeting Democrat Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison.

For years, the Walz-Ellison administration has looked the other way while fraudsters looted Minnesota’s social services. We aren’t just talking about a few thousand dollars, federal investigators now estimate a mind-blowing $9 billion or more has been drained from programs meant for hungry children and the disabled.

And it gets worse. Reports have surfaced indicating that a significant portion of these “stolen” funds may have been funneled to overseas terrorist networks, including al-Shabaab.

“In my hands, I have articles of impeachment against Attorney General Keith Ellison. As I’m sure you’re aware, he had the Feeding our Future fraudsters in his office doing an alleged quid pro quo. He’s not fit for office,” State Rep. Ben Davis said in a video statement.

Meanwhile, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is under fire after employees from the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) issued a bombshell statement accusing the far-left governor of orchestrating a sweeping cover-up to shield a sprawling Somali immigrant fraud ring that stole more than $1 billion in taxpayer funds and punishing whistleblowers who tried to stop it.

According to DHS insiders, Walz not only ignored early warnings but actively retaliated against agency employees who sounded the alarm.

They now accuse his administration of using political intimidation, monitoring, threats, and agency manipulation to suppress evidence and silence witnesses.

“Impeachment articles for the fraudster in chief, Tim Walz, holding politicians accountable, holding him accountable for the massive amount of fraud in the state of Minnesota. Estimated nine billion taxpayers money that is being wasted. Ready to drop this,” State Rep. Mike Wiener said.

The impeachment push follows mounting scrutiny from federal lawmakers and investigators over Minnesota’s administration of pandemic-era aid and social services funds.

During a January 7, 2026, congressional oversight hearing, lawmakers testified that both Governor Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison failed to take action to address widespread fraud and allegedly retaliated against whistleblowers who attempted to sound the alarm.

On March 4, 2026, both Walz and Ellison are scheduled to testify under oath before Chairman James Comer.

If the Minnesota House were to approve articles of impeachment by a simple majority, the matter would move to the Democrat-controlled State Senate for trial, where a two-thirds vote would be required for conviction and removal from office.
