In a powerful moment during his State of the Union address on Tuesday evening, President Donald Trump brought attention to the devastating story of seven-year-old Dalilah Coleman, a young girl whose life was forever altered by a horrific car accident caused by an illegal alien driving a semi-truck.

Dalilah, who was just five at the time of the crash, suffered severe injuries, including a traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, and developmental delay.

She now cannot walk, talk, or eat on her own, requiring lifelong care and therapy through a feeding tube.

The crash occurred in June 2024 on Highway 395 in Southern California, where a six-car pileup was triggered by an illegal alien driving a semi-truck who failed to stop at a construction site.

The driver, Partap Singh, an illegal alien from India who entered the U.S. in 2022 and was released under the Biden administration’s policies, slammed into the vehicle carrying Dalilah and her family.

The child was airlifted to Loma Linda Children’s Hospital, spending three weeks in a coma and six months in treatment before returning home.

Singh was arrested by ICE in August.

Her family, led by her mother, Ileana Krause, a Class A truck driver herself, has been fighting for her recovery ever since.

“I’m wanting this to spread out so that way the driver may be held accountable for his negligence I myself being a Class A truck driver and understanding the responsibilities that we hold while operating these heavy-duty vehicles across the country he neglected to hold the same responsibilities. Our daughter was to start Kindergarten this year as well as sports, her goals have been impacted and delayed severely. Dalilah is a charismatic girl with a smile to impact anyone around her. Her happiness was contagious and she always smiled and went above and beyond to make every day a memorable one,” her mother wrote in a GoFundMe fundraiser for help with medical expenses.

The president directly addressed the tragedy, endorsing legislation in her honor.

“Many, if not most, illegal aliens do not speak English and cannot read even the most basic road signs…That’s why tonight, I’m calling on Congress to pass what we will call the ‘Dalilah Law’—barring any state from granting Commercial Drivers Licenses to illegal aliens,” Trump said from the lectern.

Highlighting the divide in Congress, Trump called on lawmakers to stand if they believed it was the government’s duty to “protect American citizens over illegal aliens.”

Republicans rose to their feet in applause, while most Democrats remained seated.

Trump blasted them, saying, “You should be ashamed.”

This prompted unhinged outbursts from Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib.

The Coleman family’s GoFundMe campaign, aimed at covering rehabilitation and therapy costs, has raised $139,014 toward a $165,000 goal from over 2,500 donors.

“No child should have to carry a lifetime of consequences like this,” one supporter commented.
