CNN hosts discuss the importance of voter participation and leadership in the State of the Union segment.

Even the activists over at CNN are being forced to admit the truth: The American people are sick and tired of the Democrats’ excuses. While Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer continues to scream “Jim Crow” at any mention of basic election security, his own base has already left him behind.

Yes, CNN.

Previously reported by The Gateway Pundit, CNN Senior Data Reporter Harry Enten laid out the numbers in stark terms during an on-air breakdown, citing years of polling that consistently show support for voter ID laws hovering well above 75%, with recent surveys reaching as high as 83% nationwide.

And here’s where it gets even more inconvenient for the Democrat talking points:

  • 95% of Republicans support voter ID laws
  • 71% of Democrats support voter ID laws
  • 85% of White voters support voter ID laws
  • 82% of Latino voters support voter ID laws
  • 76% of Black voters support voter ID laws

Even CNN’s John Berman was forced to admit on air that voter ID appears to be “something of a non-troversy.”

Enten agreed, pointing out that the policy enjoys broad backing across party lines and racial demographics, undermining the oft-repeated claim that requiring identification to vote is somehow discriminatory.

Despite the data, Senate Democrats remain committed to blocking the SAVE Act, framing basic election integrity measures as an assault on minority voters.

During a recent segment, CNN’s Jake Tapper called out Schumer and confronted him that approximately 83% of Americans support voter ID requirements, including a majority of Democrats.

That jaw-dropping statistic directly contradicts the apocalyptic rhetoric being pushed by Senate Democrats as they scramble to torpedo the House-passed SAVE Act.

Chuck Schumer has gone so far as to label voter ID provisions tied to the SAVE Act as “Jim Crow 2.0,” claiming the measure would disenfranchise more than 20 million Americans, particularly poor voters and people of color.

Jake Tapper:
About 83% of the American people, including a majority of Democrats, support voter ID laws.

Chuck Schumer:
The voter ID laws that—first, each state can have its own voter ID laws, and some do and some don’t. But secondly, what they are proposing in this so-called SAVE Act is like Jim Crow 2.0. They make it so hard to get any voter ID that more than 20 million legitimate people—mainly poorer people and people of color—will not be able to vote under this law. We will not let it pass in the Senate. We are fighting it tooth and nail. It’s an outrageous proposal that shows the political bias of the MAGA right. They don’t want poor people to vote. They don’t want people of color to vote because they often don’t vote for them.
