REVEALED: HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS in Cash Flown Through Minneapolis Airport Each Year by Somali Couriers (VIDEO)
Department of Homeland Security officials say that Somali fraudsters have transported roughly $700 million in bulk cash through the Minneapolis airport to Somalia since 2024.
Officials also say that $136 million has been flown from Columbus, Ohio, to Somalia since 2023.
Meanwhile, large hub airports like John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in Texas only see about three to four million dollars in cash being transported, according to Fox’s Kayleigh McEnany.
Under the network known as hawala, money is sent back without a paper trail to the third-world country of Somalia. But it’s reportedly estimated that only $215 million in remittances are sent each year by Somalis in the US, not the billion-plus dollars sent over the last three years.
Officials say this money could be siphoned or taxed by the terrorist group al-Shabaab, Fox News reports.
During a January 21 House Homeland Security Committee hearing, Ha Nguyen McNeill, Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), testified that TSA agents report when the bulk cash is seen on the X-rays at airports and that there is an “ongoing investigation with our law enforcement partners.”

In 2016, Somali welfare recipients were busted funneling millions of dollars in suitcases full of cash through Seattle, Washington, one of the states with the largest Somali populations in America.
In 2018, we reported that over $100 million was funneled through St. Paul International Airport in just one year.
And as revelations of the massive Somali fraud scheme involving Minnesota daycare centers come to light again following Nick Shirley’s exposé, it should be recalled that this scheme was discovered over a decade ago, when a whistleblower in Minnesota exposed over $100 million in fraud.
Now, after years of inaction and increased brazenness from the foreign scammers, the amount of fraud has ballooned to billions of dollars.
Trump went off on the Somali fraud ring this morning in a statement, writing, “The Theft and Fraud in Minnesota is far greater than the 19 Billion Dollars originally projected” and demanding Somali Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) deportation.
“‘Scammer’ Illhan Omar and her absolutely terrible friends from Somalia should all be in jail right now or, far worse, send them back to Somalia,” Trump said, also slamming Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for his corruption and incompetence.
