House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has warned former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that their time for stalling is over.

Subpoenaed over four months ago as part of an investigation into the heinous crimes of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, the Clintons must now appear for depositions next week, reschedule for early January, or face contempt of Congress proceedings.

The subpoenas stem from a bipartisan vote by the Federal Law Enforcement Subcommittee in July, which authorized testimony from ten high-profile individuals, including the Clintons, former Attorney General William Barr, former FBI Director Robert Mueller, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, and former FBI Director James Comey.

Comer said in a press release on Friday:

“It has been more than four months since Bill and Hillary Clinton were subpoenaed to sit for depositions related to our investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s horrific crimes. Throughout that time, the former President and former Secretary of State have delayed, obstructed, and largely ignored the Committee staff’s efforts to schedule their testimony. If the Clintons fail to appear for their depositions next week or schedule a date for early January, the Oversight Committee will begin contempt of Congress proceedings to hold them accountable.”

Chairman Comer officially issued the subpoenas on August 5. In November, he sent a letter to the Clintons’ attorney informing them that they must appear for their depositions in person.

Depositions are scheduled for Bill Clinton on December 17 and for Hillary Clinton on December 18.

A spokesperson for Comer echoed his sentiment, telling Fox News: “We communicated to the Clintons’ attorney today that they must appear next week or provide a date in early January to appear for their depositions or we will begin contempt of Congress proceedings. They’ve been dragging their feet for over four months. Time’s up.”

The Clintons appear to be the only ones defying the process, believing they are above the law.

There have long been questions about the Clintons’ ties to Epstein, the convicted sex offender who died in prison in 2019 under suspicious circumstances.

The Oversight Committee’s probe aims to uncover the full extent of Epstein and Maxwell’s network, which allegedly involved influential figures in politics, business, and entertainment.

Maxwell, Epstein’s accomplice, was convicted in 2021 on sex trafficking charges and is serving a 20-year sentence.

If contempt proceedings move forward, it could lead to fines, imprisonment, or even referral to the Department of Justice.
