(VIDEO) Democrat Congreswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick Blames Epstein Distraction and RACISM for Indictment After Indictment for Allegedly Stealing $5 Million in FEMA Funds

Embattled Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL), who was indicted by a federal grand jury this week for stealing $5 million in FEMA funds, told reporters on Thursday that her indictment was a “scare tactic,” rooted in racism and a cover-up of the Epstein files.
The indictment alleges that “Cherfilus-McCormick, 46, and her brother Edwin Cherfilus, 51, both of Miramar, worked through their family health-care company on a FEMA-funded COVID-19 vaccination staffing contract in 2021,” according to a Justice Department press release.
“In July 2021, the company received an overpayment of $5 million in FEMA funds.”
“We spent all week seeing different members getting censured, all in hopes of intimidating and kind of distracting from the Epstein files,” she said, likely in reference to the failed House vote to censure the Virgin Islands nonvoting Delegate, Stacey Plaskett.
Plaskett was caught colluding with and taking direction from Epstein during a 2019 Congressional Hearing, where former Trump Attorney Michael Cohen testified against the President, pushing the Russia collusion and Stormy Daniels hush money hoaxes. Notably, her line of questioning, crafted by Epstein, was intended to hurt Trump, who Democrats claim was tied to Epstein.
Cherfilus-McCormick further claimed that the tactics by the Trump Administration are “especially attacking minorities, black and brown people,” implying that she is only under scrutiny for being a black woman.
Similarly, Lisa Cook argued in a lawsuit over Trump’s firing of the embattled Fed Governor in August amid mortgage fraud allegations that she is “the first Black woman to sit on the Federal Reserve’s Board in its 111-year history.”

Reporter: Your thoughts on the indictment, please.
Cherfilus-McCormick: Well, it’s an unjust indictment, and it seems like these intimidation tactics have been pervasive. We spent all week seeing different members getting censured, all in hopes of intimidating and kind of distracting from the Epstein files. And I look forward to my day in court so I can prove myself and actually state the truth.
But if this is what Congress is becoming, where they’re always trying to intimidate you— scare tactics, especially attacking minorities, black and brown people, then we’re going to have to keep fighting for the district. And everybody has been giving me so much support, and we’re going to keep fighting until the district gets what it needs, which is fair prices, housing, and fair representation in Congress.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, McCormick is facing up to 53 years in prison if convicted of the $5 million fraud scheme.
