Several people have been stabbed on the outer loop of I-495 in Annandale, Virginia, which is located just outside of Washington, DC.

According to reports, following a multi-car crash, a suspect got out of their vehicle and stabbed four people.

The suspect was later shot down by Virginia State police who responded to the crash.

One victim received CPR on the scene, and the others were reported in critical condition.

All lanes of Interstate 495’s Outer Loop have been shut down in Annandale, Virginia (Fairfax County) due to police activity.

According to traffic alerts, the closure impacts the southbound side of I-495 between Gallows Road and Route 236.

Officials initially reported multiple lanes were blocked. An update later confirmed that all lanes in the area are now closed.

Drivers should expect significant delays and are urged to seek alternate routes.
