TN Dem Gov Candidate’s Epic Fail: Tries to Slam Senator Blackburn, Gets Community Noted Instantly

Democrat Jerri Green, who is running for Governor of Tennessee, thought she was being clever with an insult directed at GOP gubernatorial candidate Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN).

Clinging to the latest woke conspiracy (unfairness in the coverage, excitement, and attention paid to two gold-winning teams), Green tried to slam Blackburn for celebrating the USA’s Men’s Hockey victory but failing to celebrate the Women’s Team’s victory.

Green wrote on X, “Congratulations to the U.S. women’s hockey team on taking home gold!

“Sorry my Senator didn’t mention your accomplishment.”

“She only cares about women’s sports when she’s making divisive comments to gain political points.”

It didn’t take long for a Community Note to embarrass Green, who was predictably wrong.

The Community Note read, “FALSE CLAIM.”

“Senator March Blackburn Congratulated the USA Woman’s Hockey Team on Their Gold Medal Victory on 2/20.”

Text detailing a false claim about Senator Marsha Blackburn congratulating the USA Women’s Hockey Team on their gold medal victory.

The note then provided a direct link to Blackburn’s congratulatory tweet to the women.

When confronted with her lie, Green played semantics by noting, for some reason that provides absolutely no “gotcha moment,” that Blackburn’s tweet came from her campaign account, not her “official” Senate account.

Blackburn’s congratulations to the Men’s team also came from, you guessed it, her campaign account.

Blackburn also posted a snarky post to her Senate account, but the purely congratulatory posts came from her campaign account, providing “even” coverage that should satisfy the woke police if it was ever actually possible to satisfy them.
