X Executive Accuses Beijing of Flooding Chinese Content in the Social Media Site With SPAM and Pornography, Trying To Drown Out Protests and Dissent

X says Beijing is disrupting Chine-language users’ fees.
The social media platform X has accused the Government in Beijing of ‘flooding’ the feed of Chinese-language users with spam and pornography to drown out protests and dissent.
Chinese language users have been complaining that searches for Chinese-language posts on X yield results clogged with ‘spam and illicit ads’.
The Telegraph reported:
“Nikita Bier, the social media platform’s head of product, claimed the Chinese government was to blame for the rise of pornographic spam in response to complaints from users.
He said: ‘The Chinese government floods X search results with porn whenever there is political unrest – to prevent their citizens from finding out real-time information.
This has been a difficult problem to solve but we are aware [and] working on it’.”

“Xi Jinping, China’s president, has launched a purge of the country’s military leadership in recent days, including removing top general Zhang Youxia. The purge has prompted a flurry of speculation across the Chinese diaspora over the reasons for the ousting.
China has repeatedly been accused of using fake accounts to spread misinformation on social media and to target pro-democracy activists.”
