Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) appeared on NBC’s Face the Nation on Sunday and said it’s “disturbing” that the Trump Administration’s plans to pause third-world immigration to ensure more thorough vetting and prevent incidents like last week’s terrorist attack in Washington, DC.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, two National Guard members were shot near the White House on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, in an ambush attack by an Afghan national. Both were rushed to the hospital, and 20-year-old Army Specialist Sarah Beckstrom tragically succumbed to her injuries on Thanksgiving Day.

Air Force Staff Sergeant Andrew Wolfe remains hospitalized in critical condition.

On Wednesday night, President Trump addressed the nation, calling for the reexamination of “every single alien who has entered our country from Afghanistan under Biden” and “all necessary measures to ensure the removal of any alien from any country who does not belong here or add benefit to our country.”

But Mark Kelly doesn’t think we should thoroughly vet aliens from countries like Afghanistan to save American lives.

“When I heard the secretary say that they’re going to pause immigration from third-world countries, I take that as a message that they don’t want brown people coming to the United States. And I find that disturbing,” Kelly told NBC host Kirsten Welker.

Of course, this is the same guy who is under investigation by the Department of War and faces a potential recall into active duty for court-martial proceedings after he joined five other Democratic lawmakers in calling on service members to defy President Trump’s lawful orders.

He clearly hates America.

Kelly’s comments come in response to Kristi Noem’s interview with Kristen Welker, earlier in the day, where she confirmed that the Trump Administration will “stop all processes at this point in time from third-world countries until we can have a thorough opportunity to go through these individuals and know that they’re here for the right intentions and that they even should be in our country to begin with.”

“These countries that people have been traveling to our shores from for so many years under the Biden Administration, their governments didn’t tell us who they were,” Noem added. And that’s precisely what happened with the Afghan illegal aliens who flooded our country following Biden’s disastrous withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan in 2021.

WATCH:

Welker: President Trump on Thursday promised to “permanently pause migration from all third-world countries.” Is the administration ending all legal immigration into the United States?

Noem: The President is absolutely determined to stop all processes at this point in time from third-world countries until we can have a thorough opportunity to go through these individuals and know that they’re here for the right intentions and that they even should be in our country to begin with. He’s putting Americans first, their safety first, and these third-world countries don’t have stable governments, they can’t sustain them, they can’t tell us who they are, and that’s really the consequence of what we’re seeing unfold with the violence on our streets. It’s because these countries that people have been traveling to our shores from for so many years under the Biden Administration, their governments didn’t tell us who they were. We don’t have a proper vetting process, so that’s one of the things I’m grateful for is that President Trump has been bold enough to say, You know what, we’re going to stop. We’re not going to allow this to continue until we have a process in place that ensures that it actually has integrity for people, that will protect us and keep us safe.

Later, Mark Kelly joined the show and credited Noem’s comments to racism, not to protecting Americans.

We are a country that has always welcomed individuals that are struggling, that are fleeing famine, violence,” Kelly said.

Ignoring the change to our country’s fabric and culture with mass, unfettered illegal immigration, Kelly continued, “And it would be a fundamental change to the fabric of our nation to change that.”

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Noem also revealed on Sunday that up to 100,000 Afghan Nationals invaded out country under Biden, and American officials “didn’t know who they were.”
