Trump-Backed Tito Asfura Wins Massive Electoral Victory… But Potential for Election Fraud Remains

National Party of Honduras (PNH) presidential candidate Tito ‘Papi’ Asfura won a massive electoral victory on Sunday, defeating his leftist competitors in a huge vindication of President Donald Trump’s bold foreign policy moves in Latin America.

President Trump’s emphatic endorsement of Papi last week, where he indicated he would support the country substantially moving forward, only if the PNH was successful against “communist” parties in the national elections.

Trump wrote at the time:

If Tito Asfura wins for President of Honduras, because the United States has so much confidence in him, his Policies, and what he will do for the Great People of Honduras, we will be very supportive.

If he doesn’t win, the United States will not be throwing good money after bad, because a wrong Leader can only bring catastrophic results to a country, no matter which country it is.

Tito will be a Great President, and the United States will work closely with him in order to ensure the success, with all of its potential, of Honduras!

Additionally, I will be granting a Full and Complete Pardon to Former President Juan Orlando Hernandez who has been, according to many people that I greatly respect, treated very harshly and unfairly.

This cannot be allowed to happen, especially now, after Tito Asfura wins the Election, when Honduras will be on its way to Great Political and Financial Success.

VOTE FOR TITO ASFURA FOR PRESIDENT, AND CONGRATULATIONS TO JUAN ORLANDO HERNANDEZ ON YOUR UPCOMING PARDON. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE HONDURAS GREAT AGAIN!

President Trump also announced a pardon of former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, who served from 2014-2022 and was a close partner of the Trump administration.

Hernandez was extradited to the U.S. by the LIBRE Party, whose rise to power was heavily supported by the Biden administration, and charged with narcotrafficking.

Hernandez’s conviction was based largely on the unproven testimony of drug dealers and murderers who were put in prison by Hernandez, including drug criminals who were caught on video negotiating bribes with top LIBRE Party officials.

Those drug dealers and murderers were then let free by the Biden DEA as part of an apparent deal to testify against Hernandez and have since been seen partying on the streets of Miami.

The National Electoral Council announced on Sunday night that Papi received 40.63 percent of votes with Salvador Nasralla of the Liberal Party in second place at 38.78 percent. Communist Rixi Moncada of the LIBRE Party, a close ally to Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro, was in a distant third with 19.59 percent — slamming the door on socialism for the beleaguered nation.

Although the vote tallies show Papi as the winner, there are worries that a lengthened vote counting process will be used for voter fraud with more ballots being “discovered” to rob Papi of his rightful victory and stop a powerful Trump ally from emerging in the region, similar to what was done to neutralize former President Hernandez. The second place finisher, Salvador Nasralla, was formerly the Vice President in the far-left LIBRE Party before he defected to the Liberals, and his political machine is trained in Marxist organizing tactics.

FRAUD AND INTIMIDATION DURING THE ELECTION PROCEEDINGS

Cossette Lopez, Electoral Commissioner for the PNH, reported getting threatened yesterday morning in an attempt to manipulate the vote.

Lopez wrote in an X post:

“Today, just minutes before the national broadcast begins, I find myself institutionally obligated to inform the citizenry of a situation I never imagined facing as a member of the CNE.

In the last few hours, I have received serious alerts about the presence of PLR collectives at the chosen polling center for the ceremonial opening of the 2025 General Elections, with the intent to intimidate me and obstruct my participation in the subsequent stages of the process, thereby provoking early public conflict that discourages voting.

After the episodes of verbal violence and harassment I have endured since taking office and more recently, this risk has ceased to be a mere perception and has become a real threat.

On security recommendations and to avoid compromising my safety, I will not attend the inaugural event of the electoral day. Protecting my life and that of my family is not an act of fear: it is an act of responsibility.”

Poll workers get ready to open the polls

Lopez had previously reported that certain polling stations have not been able to open the morning of the elections because members of the Armed Forces are scanning the IDs of all electoral workers, and if they do not appear on their list, they are not allowed to enter and do their jobs.

The Armed Forces have no authority beyond what the law mandates, and this is not one of their powers.

Lopez had previously been attacked with an AI-manipulated audio that accused her of plotting with PNH officials of a voter fraud conspiracy.

It was confirmed by independent observers to be a deep fake manipulation, but was still broadcast widely to the public as if it were legitimate.

“The Honduran people are hungry for liberty and freedom,” said Populist Sentinel reporter Shane Trejo, who is serving as an international election observer in the Honduran capital of Tegucigalpa.

“But there is still a great deal of institutional corruption that will try to steal the election with the same type of underhanded tactics we saw during the 2020 presidential election, used against President Trump. We must remain on guard and ensure that there is justice in Honduras.”
