Rogue Democrat Admits President Trump Has NOT Issued Any Illegal Military Orders | Drew Hernandez

Senator Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, a Democrat and former CIA officer, admitted during an appearance on ABC’s “This Week” that she is “not aware” of any illegal orders issued by President Donald Trump, even as she defended a video urging military personnel to refuse unlawful commands.
The video, which Slotkin posted on Tuesday and has garnered nearly 17 million views on X, features six Democratic lawmakers with military or intelligence backgrounds telling service members, “Our laws are clear. You can refuse illegal orders”.
When pressed by ABC host Martha Raddatz about whether the president had issued any illegal orders, Slotkin responded, “To my knowledge, I am not aware of things that are illegal, but certainly there are some legal gymnastics that are going on with these Caribbean strikes and everything related to Venezuela”. Her acknowledgment came after intense criticism from the Trump administration, which characterized the video as “unnerving” and “unconscionable” for suggesting the president was issuing unlawful orders without providing a specific example.
President Trump responded forcefully to the Democrats’ video, posting on Truth Social that their actions constituted “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” and later adding, “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP???”. During his Friday appearance on Fox News Radio’s “Brian Kilmeade Show,” Trump stated, “I think Pete Hegseth is looking into it. I know they’re looking into it militarily. I don’t know for a fact, but I think the military is looking into it, the military courts”.
Trump clarified during the Kilmeade interview that he was not directly threatening the lawmakers but emphasized the historical severity of sedition, saying, “In the old days, if you said a thing like that, that was punishable by death. I’m not threatening death, but I think they’re in serious trouble”. The president characterized the Democratic lawmakers as “bad people” who, in his opinion, “broke the law,” while suggesting that if the roles were reversed and he had made similar statements about a Democratic president, “all hell would have broken loose”.
Vice President JD Vance backed Trump’s position, posting on X, “If the president hasn’t issued illegal orders, then members of Congress telling the military to defy the president is by definition illegal”. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth dubbed the group the “Seditious Six” and confirmed the Pentagon is launching a “thorough review” into Senator Mark Kelly, noting that Kelly, as a retired Navy Commander, remains subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
The six lawmakers featured in the video—Senators Slotkin and Mark Kelly of Arizona, along with Representatives Jason Crow of Colorado, Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire, Chris Deluzio and Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania—responded collectively, stating they found it “telling” that Trump believes it deserves the death penalty to reiterate existing law, and affirmed they “will not be intimidated” by his calls. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer condemned Trump’s posts on the Senate floor, saying the president was explicitly calling “for the execution of elected officials,” while House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries described the comments as “disgusting and dangerous”.
