US officials are burning the midnight oil in pursuit of peace.

Just when nobody was expecting any developments in the almost 4-year-old war between Russia and Ukraine, Donald J. Trump and his team pulled a major rabbit out of the hat.

The 28-point plan was reportedly written by Trump’s trusted advisors Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, with some input by Vladimir Putin’s special envoy Kirill Dmitriev’s.

After the tryumphant Israel-Gaza deal, Witkoff was tasked with working to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

Sure enough, Russia considered it ‘a good basis for negotiations’, while Ukraine rejected it and the EU and the Globalist enemedia were furious with it.

The US piled on unprecedented pressure on Kiev, threatening to stop intel sharing and all military equipment sales for NATO to transfer to Ukraine.

So, senior delegations from Washington and Kyiv met in Geneva, Switzerland, to draft a new version of the peace plan that’s more palatable to Ukrainians.

Watch: Rubio – ‘Obviously, the Russians get a vote, too.’

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US special envoy Steve Witkoff, US Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll and Jared Kushner met with Ukrainian officials at the US Mission in Geneva.

Still, Zelensky has said the new plan is not yet finalized, and a meeting with Trump is expected.

In the meantime, U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll flew to Abu Dhabi to meet with Russian officials according to CBS News.

CBS reported:

“Secretary Driscoll met with members of the Russian delegation [Monday night] for several hours in Abu Dhabi. He is scheduled to meet with them again throughout the day [Tuesday] to discuss the peace process and rapidly move the peace negotiations forward,” a U.S. official told CBS News.

[…] The meetings come amid an intensifying push by President Trump to secure a ceasefire in the almost four-year-long Russia-Ukraine war, with U.S. officials holding discussions with envoys from both countries.”

At this point, it’s unclear how close Russia and Ukraine are to a deal.

BREAKING UPDATE | Fox News reported:

Ukraine has agreed to a peace deal that would see an end to the war with Russia. Some minor details of the agreement are still to be sorted out, the official said.

Lt. Col. Jeff Tolbert, a spokesman for U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, had told Fox News that Driscoll and his team met with Russian officials in Abu Dhabi on Monday and Tuesday to discuss the framework for a Ukraine peace deal.

‘The talks are going well and we remain optimistic. Secretary Driscoll is closely synchronized with the White House and the U.S. interagency as these talks progress’, said Tolbert.”
