Federal agents have been deployed to Charlotte, North Carolina, as part of an intensified crackdown on illegal immigration.
This operation, dubbed “Charlotte’s Web,” signifies a significant escalation of federal enforcement efforts in a Democrat-led city, aiming to apprehend individuals residing in the country illegally.
Federal officials have confirmed that CBP agents are now conducting enforcement operations across multiple neighborhoods in Charlotte, North Carolina’s largest city.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that the deployment is intended to “ensure Americans are safe and public safety threats are removed,” citing concerns over “criminal illegal aliens” and the failure of “sanctuary politicians” to honor immigration detainers.
“Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced DHS law enforcement is surging resources for Operation Charlotte’s Web in North Carolina,” DHS said in a statement.
“This DHS operation will target the criminal illegal aliens who flocked to the Tar Heel State because they knew sanctuary politicians would protect them and allow them to roam free on American streets. Nearly 1,400 detainers across North Carolina have not been honored—releasing criminal illegal aliens into North Carolina’s neighborhoods.”
Assistant Secretary of DHS Tricia McLaughlin stated:
“Americans should be able to live without fear of violent criminal illegal aliens hurting them, their families, or their neighbors.
We are surging DHS law enforcement to Charlotte to ensure Americans are safe and public safety threats are removed. There have been too many victims of criminal illegal aliens. President Trump and Secretary Noem will step up to protect Americans when sanctuary politicians won’t.”
Local officials, including Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles and other Democrat leaders, have voiced strong criticism, stating that the operations are “causing unnecessary fear and uncertainty” and that residents “simply want to go about their lives.”
These officials have emphasized that local police departments do not participate in federal immigration enforcement and have urged the community to remain peaceful.
However, proponents of the crackdown, such as Republican officials in Mecklenburg County, argue that Democrat leaders are “demonizing the brave men and women of federal law enforcement” and failing to uphold law and order.
They assert that President Trump was given a mandate to secure the borders and that those in the country legally have nothing to fear.

Jose Ulloa-Martinez, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras, was arrested for murder. He was released after authorities failed to honor the ICE detainer.
Osman Armondo Paz-Ortiz, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras, was arrested for statutory sex offense with a child, indecent liberties with a child, and sex acts by a substitute parent/custodian.
